I have had the idea to write a blog on creation in my blog drafts for months now, not having anything to write down. Since then, God had been doing so many things in my life. I recently got back from Summer camp as an intern and then directly hopped on a plane to Oklahoma to then roadtrip 12 hours to Colorado, followed by an all nighter. All to visit Tanner for his birthday weekend, and after not seeing him for over two months. The weird thing is, I got in a car with people I had not really spent time with or even met, one was my boyfriends sister Maddie and the other was my boyfriends best friend Cooper. I can now say they are some of my best friends. I guess that is what happens when you are stuck together with little sleep. Our trip to Colorado was the best trip I have ever been on. We got to see God's beautiful creation that is mountains, and I grew close to my sweet friends through Jesus.
What I took away:
The song So Will I by Hillsong united made the trip through the mountains even better. It gave me a new perspective on life and Jesus. Wow. It is crazy that the God who made the heavens and earth also made us. The one who handcrafted the mountains and stars also handcrafted us in His image. There is nothing we can do that can separate us from Gods grace. We went to a small church in Crestes Butte, Colorado on Sunday and they talked about grace. They also talked about how beautiful the mountains and creation is, but how heaven will be even more overwhelmingly breathtaking.
When In Colorado:
It was so hard leaving three of my best friends to get back to reality, but I am so thankful to have experienced Gods presence with them. We had such fruitful conversations that were for Gods glory. I also laughed so hard my stomach hurt so many times, which is the best feeling. We cooked food over the campfire, danced around the campfire, and laughed around the campfire. We hiked a mountain, went white water rafting where we jumped into 40 degree water. We walked around town late at night quoting sponge bob and dancing in the street as if we were the only ones there. We listened to the same five songs because it reminded us of the trip and of each other. We did not shower for five days and we slept on cots in the middle of mountains. We went to bed late and woke up early. We had a lot of lattes and weird food, like eggs on a pizza. We saw a lot of dogs walk around town and even saw several rainbows. We met a lot of locals and had cool conversations with people we did not even know. We hammocked in the middle of aspen trees and hiked up a steep pathway where it led to a beautiful river. We watched the sunrise several times on top of Coopers car experiencing Gods beauty. And those are just a few of the things that made the trip so great.
Its hard to put into words how amazing this trip was, but I will forever hold on to those memories. It is also hard to put into words Gods creation and how beautiful everything in Colorado was. The whole trip felt like we were in our own perfect world and we never wanted it to end. See ya soon Colorado, this new mountain girl will be back.
