Photography is something I have always had an interest in, but I have never taken the time to do any research on the matter. Also considering how expensive all the equipment is I have just left that idea in the back of my head to start photography. I started working sporadically for Kelly Hornberger (Wedding photographer & a great woman of God!) and seeing all the little things it takes to run a (photography) business. On Saturday August 18, I got to embark on a 14 hour photography day. I also got to see behind the scenes of a bride getting ready for her wedding day which was pretty special. She was one of the sweetest gals I have met. She was genuinely loved by all of her bridesmaids and guests that it was so evident of her good character.
A Walk Through The Day:
It started at 11am in downtown Houston at the house where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready. I got to say, when I first walked in it was a bit overwhelming. The crazy part is, she had 16 bridesmaids!!! The house was full of girls and they were all so gorgeous. At the house we took "detail" photos. So photos of the brides shoes, earrings, invitations, etc.. We got to see her dress before anyone else, which was beautiful. We also got to see her open a special gift from her soon to be husband. It was so special to see her friends reactions when she was all dolled up and in her dress. It was priceless to hear their compliments and words of encouragement to the bride to be. They then got on a party bus to go to the wedding. The wedding was so sweet and God played a huge role in their wedding. Then was the reception where I got to take some photos of everyone dancing and celebrating. That part was so fun, I loved seeing how happy everyone was. I also got to eat their yummy food and cake, so that was a nice surprise. All in all, it was a busy yet fun day! I am super excited to learn more about photography in the future!
